I am really obsessed and excited about exploring the impact of "a new era in climate communications" that can be use as a secret weapon to catalyze urgent action for climate and nature. Our Foundation is growing, and incredible people like Jerome Foster II are coming to be part of our team. I have a mother that has a disability so we are blessed that she lives with us and we can take care of her, I have an 18 year old dog who is the daughter I never had, who also needs extra care to say the least, a husband who loves me and supports me all the way, 3 wonderful stepchildren and of course.my work that doesn't feel like work that is my passion and purpose in life. always running against time, datelines, traveling and putting less priority on myself and try to balance my health and family live. Resilience Finance - unlock adaptation financing with public-private partnerships that leverage concessional finance and insurance.ĩ. Holistic resilience approaches from the private sector –move away from ESG tickboxes and turn innovation and technology towards solving problems rather than launching incremental initiatives.Ĩ. Circular food systems – food security and climate benefits result when food waste and local production and consumption increase.ħ. Invest in the missing middle using blended finance solutions for middle-income countries and their major cities to sure up hard-won development gains.Ħ. Learn from cities with high vulnerability and high capacity and translate approaches to areas of most need.ĥ. Scale successful water resilience interventions by investing in holistic water resilience systems and innovative urban sanitation systems.Ĥ. Create a greater role for women and girls in tackling the climate crisis by putting women in decision-making roles in climate policy, finance, and project levels which yields more collaborative, win-win solutions.ģ. Empower cities – on the frontlines of climate change, cities need more resources to protect the largest at-risk communities in the world.Ģ. Together, they offer an opportunity to build equitable solutions, empowering communities to become more resilient to climate change and other shocks & stresses.ġ. In this blog, I outline 10 pathways for action on the road to COP28. It confirms that climate-related risks are the biggest future threat facing the world.Ĭonnected risks require holistic planning and investment in systems change as solutions. The report rightly points out we face connected, cascading risks that threaten a polycrisis. The World Economic Forum posted its annual report on global risks this week leading with: ‘We are on the brink of a global ‘polycrisis,’ how worried should we be?’
